By Contributor Treyarch has packed plenty of secrets and surprises into Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. Although many Treyarch easter eggs are difficult to find, there are some that can be accessed with little effort, such as Dead Ops Arcade 2. This guide will show you how to unlock this secret game mode in just a few easy steps. Players who are familiar with the first Call of Duty: Black Ops game will likely remember Dead Ops Arcade, a secret game mode that could be unlocked from the CIA computer terminal at the menu area. The twin-stick, top-down shooter required players to survive as long as possible against waves of zombies.
Treyarch has since revived this fun easter egg with the sequel, Dead Ops Arcade 2: Cyber’s Avengening, in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. How to Unlock Dead Ops Arcade 2 Accessing this retro mini-game requires only a few simple steps. Start by completing the first two missions of the Campaign mode. Doing so will unlock a separate campaign area called the Safehouse, which is basically a central hub where you can customize your character, loadouts and more. After finishing the second mission, back out from the Campaign and select “Go to Safehouse” on the main menu. Locate a computer terminal labeled Data Vault in a nearby alcove, and access the terminal.

Scroll your cursor to the top left corner of the terminal display. Next to the phrase “Data Vault”, there is a white S-shaped rotating icon, which happens to be a secret button. Press this icon button to unlock and access the new Dead Ops Arcade 2 menu. Hacking the Data Vault will also unlock the “Silverback in Black” achievement. This retro sequel to Dead Ops Arcade features both top-down and first person perspectives.
Dead Ops Arcade 2 opens with a new, yet familiar nemesis, who steals your chicken. It’s your job to rescue the chicken, but only if you can survive the zombie onslaught. There are floating perks and guns that players can pick up throughout the levels that help defend against the oncoming zombie hordes. While this arcade mode is typically played from a top-down perspective, there is even a square shaped floating perk that temporarily brings players into first-person perspective for the remainder of the level. This was a surprisingly nice addition to the nostalgic easter egg sequel. Data Vault Hidden Menu While hovering over the same secret S-button you used to unlock Dead Ops Arcade 2, press both of the bumpers and triggers on your controller.
Proceed to press square, then triangle, if you're playing on Playstation. If you’re on Xbox One, press X, then Y. This should open up a secret text menu that allows you to input various keywords. This mysterious keyword menu seems to be essentially an inbuilt cheat code system for fans to play around with. As of right now, devoted easter egg hunters are still busy trying to figure out what keywords will yield results. So far, players have found that typing in the word “Manifest” causes the player’s number of fabrication kits to significantly increase in the Cyber Core Station.
Feel free to play around with this text menu and try to uncover new code words. If you’re looking for a unique, retro take on the traditional zombies mode signature of the Black Ops installments, then be sure to give Dead Ops Arcade 2 a try.
Jun 4th 2012 Guest OK all of you stupid pieces of crap, you can't unlock Dead ops Arcade on the Wii version of Black Ops. It is also very unlikely that the Wii version will get DLC, as Treyarch is already working on both Black Ops 2 and Black Ops: ZOMBIES iOS. FIVE and DOA were both made SPECIFICALLY for the HD versions on XBOX 360 and PS3. So for Wii players, there you go, and for HD players, get off of this page because you are confusing the crap out of people and you know nothing about the Wii version.
